Required for January 2025

We are looking to appoint a maths teacher to start January 2025. The successful candidate will be a dynamic, child centred teacher of maths that will be, or if ECT, have the ability to become, an inspirational classroom practitioner.

The maths department is a large and successful team of staff that consistently support students to achieve excellent outcomes. Teachers share resources and plan together, have their own classroom appropriately equipped with laptop, interactive board and there is a comprehensive induction programme in place to support new members of staff.

Frederick Gough School is an over-subscribed community school whose aim is to ensure all of its learners leave as happy, well rounded, qualified individuals ready to succeed in the next chapter of their lives. We are proud of our values and positive culture and have attached some of the additional benefits of being part of the Fred Gough Family.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and we expect applicants to have the same commitment. For all applicants there will be an enhanced DBS check including children’s barred list information. It is an offence for anyone barred from working with children to apply for this position.

Further details are available from the school and interested candidates are welcome to visit the school by appointment in advance, to meet Mick Dalton (Deputy Head).

The closing date for applications is Thursday 10 October at noon with interviews on Tuesday 15 October.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a safer recruitment, self-disclosure form and submit it prior to interview. References will be obtained prior to interview and an online search carried out following ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ protocol.
