Required for September 2025

We are looking to appoint a maths teacher to start September 2025. The successful candidate will be a dynamic, child centred teacher of maths who will be, or if ECT have the ability to become, an inspirational classroom practitioner.

The maths department is a large and successful team of staff that consistently support students to achieve excellent outcomes. Teachers share resources and plan together, have their own classroom appropriately equipped with laptop, interactive board and there is a comprehensive induction programme in place to support new members of staff.

Frederick Gough School has been the most oversubscribed school in North Lincolnshire for the last nine years.  Ofsted (November 2023) described our school as truly comprehensive where pupils are happy, kind and respectful and where teachers and leaders are proud to work. We genuinely believe in education being the key to ensuring a successful society for the future and would ask that you read our curriculum intent on our website as well as other key documents to get a feel of what we are about. We are proud of our values and positive culture and have attached some of the additional benefits of being part of the Fred Gough Family.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and we expect applicants to have the same commitment. For all applicants there will be an enhanced DBS check including children’s barred list information. It is an offence for anyone barred from working with children to apply for this position.

Further details are available from the school and interested candidates are welcome to visit the school by appointment in advance, to meet with the Deputy Head, Mick Dalton, mdalton@fgs.org.uk

The closing date for applications is noon on Thursday 6 February, with interviews to be held on Tuesday 11 February.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a safer recruitment, self-disclosure form and submit it prior to interview. References will be obtained prior to interview and an online search carried out following ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024’.

As an employer, we promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect the same commitment from existing and prospective employees or volunteers. Recruitment to this post will follow our safer recruitment procedure which includes us requesting references prior to interview and a DBS check.

We are collectively organised around the people and place of North Lincolnshire. Together we ensure that our communities are safe, well, prosperous and connected. We are ambitious for North Lincolnshire, we want our area to be the #BestPlace for our residents by being the #BestCouncil we can be. We achieve this through living our values – equality of opportunity, excellence, integrity and self-responsibility – in all that we do.
