Breakfast Club Assistant

Salary: Grade 3 £2,709.18 - £2,795.22 per year
Location Bottesford Infants School Scunthorpe
Hours: 5 hours per week term time only
DBS: Yes Enhanced

This is a Permanent, Part Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Breakfast Club Assistant to support the infant and junior children who attend Little Acorns Breakfast Club at Bottesford Infant School.

The successful candidate will be reliable, enthusiastic, engaging, caring and creative.

Experience of working in a breakfast club or educational setting is preferable but not essential.

Your responsibilities will include support and care to ensure the children’s wellbeing and safety when attending the club.

You will undertake routine breakfast club duties working with established procedures alongside other Breakfast Club Assistants.

The role would suit anyone starting their journey into school employment.

Responsibilities:
*Actively and enthusiastically assist in the safe and organised running of the Breakfast Club
*Preparing and delivering a programme of imaginative and innovative activities suitable to the needs and interests of children 4 -11 years old
*Assist in the preparation, serving and tidying away of the breakfasts
*Ensure all activity areas are left clean and tidy at the end of each session
*Have awareness of, and maintain sensitivity for, any children with additional needs (physical, behavioural and dietary)
*To promote and reinforce school policies, practices and procedures, including and understanding of Equal Opportunities, Child Protection, Prevent Duty, GDPR, and promoting British Values.

Skills & Experience:
*Have a requirement of a Level 1 Childcare qualification or working towards
*Be able to relate and engage with children aged between 4 - 11 years
*Be a people person with excellent communication skills
*Have high expectations of children’s achievements and behaviour
*Basic Food Hygiene certificate (training provided where needed)
