Salary: M3 - UPS1 £35,674.00 to £45,646.00 per year

Early Years/KS1 Phase lead teacher required from September 2025.

The governors of our friendly school are seeking to employ an enthusiastic and energetic teacher to work as part of a committed, hardworking and happy team. It is our intention to ignite a real love of learning by providing a rich, varied and exciting curriculum that meets the needs of each and every individual, working through our Church school vision and Christian Values.

 

This post is a fixed term position for one year, in the first instance with a view to making the right person a permanent member of our staff. Employed by the St Barnabas and St Helena’s C of E Federation, the position is currently based in the Early Years/KS1 unit at St Helena’s in Kirmington.

 

We are looking for a practitioner who is confident in leading a small unit, with children in EYFS and KS1, teaching in both classes and is able to challenge and support all pupils based on their individual needs. The unit starts in the First Steps Nursery and has children in Nursery from Monday to Wednesday morning, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.

 

The role may also include middle leadership responsibilities across the federation (depending on experience).

 

We are looking to appoint someone who:

  • is an outstanding practitioner with a creative approach and determination to raise standards;
  • has high expectations for pupil achievement and conduct and able to lead by example;
  • has the determination and drive to make sure all pupils are actively involved in their learning and are guided and supported well, to ensure they become the best they can be;
  • has good interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate those around you;
  • is able to lead a small team of support staff in the day to day running of the unit;
  • is organised and prepared, but can adapt to the needs of the small village school where being part of a team is key to success;
  • is committed to building positive relationships with the Church, local community and parents.
  • Has a good understanding of both the EYFS and KS1 curriculums and knows how to maximise opportunities for all learners.
