Do you have aspirations to lead in a high performing school?

Do you have aspirations to become a successful leader and help shape the ambitious future of the Federation, based on providing high quality pastoral care for every child?

Our students are amazing.  They are intelligent, articulate, funny, welcoming and appreciative of great teaching.  They deserve the best and we intend to make sure that this is what they receive, in every subject, every day of their school lives.

We are a true comprehensive school which is built on strong family values,  where everyone is seen, recognised and valued. This had led to us becoming one of the most successful and oversubscribed schools in the region. To continue to fulfill our ambitions for our students we need outstanding teachers who are dedicated, passionate, dynamic, caring and inspiring.  We strongly feel we have a world class staff team and we are looking for someone to join us.

The foundation of our school is built around the House system, which gives the students a sense of belonging and identity. We know that a sense of pride and connection with their school gives our students the best foundations for success.

Our Heads of House are the champions of our students. Their role is to create opportunities and memories for our students which they will carry with them into adulthood; school is about so much more than lessons.

Our Heads of House are our school cheerleaders, bringing a sense of fun, competition and community in all the activities they organise and facilitate. We strive to ensure that every student takes part in House activities and these include House bake off, Baysgarth’s Got Talent and our legendary Sports day. All opportunities where our House system brings our school together.

We are therefore looking for someone who embodies this sense of community and family values, who is creative and motivating in ensuring that every student takes advantage of all the many opportunities we offer at Baysgarth.

In addition, our staff are all expected to have strong inclusive values and will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a proven track record of excellent outcomes. We are especially interested in staff who teach English, Maths or Geography.

In return, the successful applicant will join a school whose family values mean that they recognise the importance of a well supported and resourced staff. We offer:

  • Work life balance is a strong aspect of all leaders’ work and as such our staff community thrives with excellent staff retention.
  • High levels of professional trust and empowerment
  • Outstanding resources and facilities
  • Community based school who recognise the important role the school plays in the town
  • Strong leadership at all levels which seeks to involve staff in decision making
  • Bespoke CPD programme for every member of staff, based on individual needs and aspirations
  • Leadership and Management programme including coaching, mentoring and shadowing opportunities

Baysgarth School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  The successful applicant will be required to apply for enhanced disclosure from the DBS.

If you are inspired by the challenge and responsibility of this opportunity, we would like to hear from you. If you would like to discuss any aspect of the post or organise a visit, please feel free to contact our Deputy Headteacher Andy North on andrew.north@baysgarthschool.co.uk

Closing date for applications is 8:00am on 25th April 2025.

Interviews will be held week commencing 5th May 2025.

As an employer, we promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect the same commitment from existing and prospective employees or volunteers. Recruitment to this post will follow our safer recruitment procedure which includes us requesting references prior to interview and a DBS check.
