The Vacancy
Driven by our Vision of “Learning Together in Unity” we are seeking an ambitious and hardworking Deputy Headteacher to help us to fully “Unlock our Potential” as a school community.
Governors and the Headteacher are seeking an inspirational and determined Deputy Headteacher to join us at a pivotal moment in our school's journey. We will be honest, our school has faced significant challenges in recent years, however, under new leadership and with a renewed sense of purpose, we are a school that is ready to change, and are looking for someone who is driven by this. This is an opportunity for a resilient, ambitious leader.
Teaching and learning sits at the heart of the improvement journey we are embarking on, and our new Deputy Headteacher will play a central role in raising standards across the school. You will bring a forensic understanding of what quality teaching looks like, a clear vision and proven impact of curriculum development, and the tenacity to support colleagues in consistently delivering the best for every child in our care. As part of this role, you will also maintain class teaching responsibilities throughout the week — grounding your leadership in the day-to-day reality of our classrooms.
This role will demand commitment, resilience and an unshakeable belief that every child here deserves the very best. You will be supported by a team that understands the need for improvement and will be encouraged to “Learn Together in Unity to Unlock your Full Potential” in line with our Church Vision.
If that excites you, Luan Sowerby, the new Headteacher would very much like to hear from you.
Please contact the Business Manager, Tracey Burrows at the school office on 01652 688248 to arrange an appointment or to have an informal discussion with the Headteacher.
Please see the attached job description and employee specification which you should refer to when completing your application to demonstrate you meet the essential criteria for the role.
As an employer, we promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect the same commitment from existing and prospective employees or volunteers. Recruitment to this post will follow our safer recruitment procedure which includes us requesting references prior to interview and a DBS check.
