The Vacancy

Sir John Nelthorpe School is an oversubscribed and successful 11-19 mixed comprehensive school with a proud heritage and a reputation for academic excellence. We are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Teacher of MFL to join our dedicated faculty to cover a period of maternity leave.
The Role:
The successful candidate will be an exemplary classroom practitioner capable of delivering high-quality French lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
There is a possibility of teaching German for a candidate with the appropriate skills and experience.
This role is suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) qualifying this year.
Key Responsibilities:
To plan and deliver engaging lessons that challenge all pupils and promote a love for language learning.
To monitor and evaluate pupil progress in line with school policies to ensure high-quality outcomes.
To contribute to the development of schemes of work within the MFL department.
To promote the school’s ethos and maintain high standards of behaviour and discipline.
The Successful Candidate will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be on track to achieve this by June 2026.
A degree in a relevant subject.
The ability to inspire students and foster a positive learning environment.
A commitment to raising the attainment of all pupils, regardless of their starting point.
