Salary: M1 - UPS3 £32,916 to £51,048 per year

Sir John Nelthorpe School is a successful 11-19 mixed comprehensive school with a proud history and a commitment to delivering a high-quality, academic curriculum. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented linguist to join our MFL faculty on a part-time basis.

 

The Role:

We are looking for a specialist to deliver German across Key Stage 3 and 4.

Whilst this role is ideally for a German specialist, French specialists are also strongly encouraged to apply.

There are opportunities for Key Stage 5 teaching for candidates who wish to teach at A-Level.

The post is suitable for experienced teachers, ECTs, or those qualifying this year (Summer 2026).

 

Key Responsibilities:

To plan and deliver high-standard MFL lessons that engage students and foster a deep interest in languages.

To contribute to the faculty’s tracking and monitoring of student progress.

To support the development of the MFL curriculum, ensuring students are well-prepared for examinations and beyond.

To participate in the wider life of the school, including our "Fortis et Fidelis" ethos.

 

The Successful Candidate will have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be on track to achieve this by September 2026.

A degree in German, French, or a related subject.

The ability to inspire and motivate pupils across all ability ranges.

A commitment to continuous professional development and collaborative working.
