The Vacancy
The Grange Primary School are seeking to appoint a passionate and highly effective SENDCo (0.6 FTE / 3 days per week) from September 2026, to play a key role in the continued development of our school.
At The Grange Primary School, we are a welcoming and inclusive school where strong relationships with children and families are at the heart of what we do. We are committed to ensuring every child feels supported, understood and able to succeed.
As SENDCo, you will play a central role in school life, leading strategically on all aspects of SEND and inclusion. This is a non-class-based role, with no responsibility for a class, enabling you to focus fully on SEND leadership, coordination and the development of high-quality provision across the school.
You will champion an inclusive approach that prioritises early identification, strong communication with families and high-quality provision in the classroom. Working closely with staff and external agencies, you will ensure that barriers to learning are understood and effectively addressed, enabling all pupils to thrive both academically and personally.
We are looking for someone who:
• Is an excellent classroom practitioner with a strong and proven track record
• Has experience and expertise as a SEND specialist
• Builds positive, trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues
• Has high expectations of achievement and behaviour for all pupils
• Is organised, reflective and highly motivated
• Brings initiative, creativity and a strong team ethos
• Is passionate about inclusion and committed to removing barriers to learning
In return, we offer:
• The opportunity to be part of a caring, inclusive and forward-thinking school community
• A genuinely supportive and friendly working environment
• High-quality professional development and ongoing support
• A committed, caring and innovative leadership team
• A Governing Body who are fully invested in the success and future of the school
Please see attached job description and employee specification which you should refer to when completing your application to demonstrate you meet the essential criteria for the role.
We warmly welcome visits to the school—come and see our inclusive culture and strong relationships in action. Please contact Emma Sands on 01724 843601.
As an employer, we promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect the same commitment from existing and prospective employees or volunteers. Recruitment to this post will follow our safer recruitment procedure which includes us requesting references prior to interview and a DBS check.
