About us
Westcliffe Primary School is a larger-than-average primary serving children aged 3 to 11.
The successful candidate will support us to prepare our children for their future, by developing their knowledge of the world, communication skills, tolerance and aspirations.
They will be passionate about promoting positive mental health throughout the curriculum and determined to support children to become the best versions of themselves in behaviour, relationships and learning.
This post would best suit an Early Careers Teacher (ECT) who is looking to begin their career in a supportive school.
The role:
We are recruiting two enthusiastic, reflective and ambitious Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to join our friendly, supportive staff team from 1 September 2026.
You will:
• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that secure strong progress for all pupils, with particular attention to disadvantaged pupils, pupils with SEND and those with EAL.
• Use assessment effectively to identify next steps and adapt teaching.
• Promote pupils’ personal development, wellbeing and positive behaviour in line with school expectations.
• Participate fully in the statutory ECT induction programme and school CPD.

• Applicants must provide a full employment history (since leaving school), including any gaps and reasons for those gaps.
• Under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions Order 1975, as amended) this post is exempt from the provisions which would otherwise allow certain convictions to be treated as spent. Applicants will be required to disclose relevant convictions and cautions at the appropriate stage and we will follow the DBS and Ministry of Justice guidance on filtering.
• At least one person on the interview panel will have completed safer recruitment training.
