Social Care Officer

Salary: Grade 6 - £29,540 to £32,597 per year
Location: Church Square House, Scunthorpe
Hours: 37 hours per week
DBS: Yes Enhanced with Barred List Check

The Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Team, covering Scunthorpe and Brigg and Barton, are looking for two Social Care Officers for a permanent position to join our busy team.

We work with people aged 18 upwards who are living with mental ill health, learning disabilities, and people with neurodiversity. This means that our work is not only incredibly rewarding but varied and changeable. The position is full time working over 5 days a week. 

The right candidate will be a strong team player, resilient and solution‑focused, with a proactive approach to work as part of a busy Social Work Team. They will provide person‑centred, strength‑based assessments and care plans that focus on maintaining independence. They will need to be able to work autonomously and demonstrate excellent problem‑solving skills. They will need to have effective communication and organisational skills, as well as skills in negotiation, the use of IT systems, and the ability to work under pressure.

Key responsibilities include managing a caseload of people who have care and support needs. They will work collaboratively with other teams, both internal and external, to ensure a good-quality service that is in line with our statutory responsibilities and established good working relationships. They will also be able to travel throughout North Lincolnshire independently as we cover all the North Lincolnshire area
