At Saint Barnabas Church of England Primary School we are at an exciting turning point in our journey; a school that is growing in confidence and is embracing rapid improvement to unlock our potential in line with our church school vision. The new governing body is looking to recruit an exceptional SENCO with some class teacher responsibility to join us as we continue on our journey.

We are delighted to offer what will be a unique and varied role that reflects the breadth of what a great teacher can bring to a school. This position combines two days as our dedicated Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) across the federation of two schools, this will be protected time, non class based, giving you the time and space to lead SEND provision with real impact — alongside two days as part of a job share in Key Stage 1, where you will bring your passion for early learning directly into the classroom, whether you are supporting our most vulnerable learners using strong adaptive teaching practices or inspiring our youngest pupils with current teaching strategies.

The skills and experience we're looking for are: -

• A teacher who is passionate about teaching in Key Stage 1 and is committed to inspiring children to achieve their best.

• A teacher who can effectively meet the needs of pupils with SEND through inclusive practice, adaptive teaching, and appropriate support and challenge.

• A teacher who can plan and deliver engaging, well-sequenced KS1 lessons that meet the needs of all pupils and promote high expectations.

• A collaborative professional who will contribute to the development and implementation of the school curriculum and work closely with colleagues in planning.

• A practitioner who maintains excellent classroom behaviour routines and promotes pupils’ personal development in line with our school values.

• A team player who can build positive relationships with parents and the wider community.

• An individual who is committed to fulfilling statutory responsibilities and is keen to drive standards forward at the rapid pace needed to address whole school development priorities.

If you think this role is something that you may be interested in, please contact the Executive Headteacher, Mrs Luan Sowerby at school on 01652 688248 or via email admin@stbandsth.co.uk who would very much welcome you into the school for a visit and will be able to answer any questions that you may have.
