Apprentice Advisor (Finance Service Desk)

Salary: Apprentice Year 1 £15,435 per year (£8.00 per hour)
Location: Church Square House, Scunthorpe
Hours: 37 hours per week
DBS: No

This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

As a valued part of the Council’s Financial Services, you will play an important role in the day-to-day administration of our financial operations.

You’ll work across two teams; Finance Service Desk, supporting Accounts Payable and Receivable; and the Financial Systems Team, where you will support income management, bank reconciliation and our financial systems.

What you will learn to do:

  • Process financial transactions
  • Process electronic invoices
  • Support income collection, allocation and Bank reconciliation
  • Monitor queries and supporting colleagues
  • Liaise with internal departments to support information requests

• Resolve inquiries in a timely matter over the telephone and via email 

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria: 

  • Good standard of English and Maths 
  • Have good communication skills, both verbal and written 
  • Good time management 
  • Basic IT skills 
  • Ability to meet deadlines 
  • Team working 
  • Commitment to complete an Apprenticeship 
  • Ability to attend training

You will gain a Level 2 and Level 3 AAT Qualification.

Please note that if you already hold this qualification, or the equivalent, your application will not be progressed. 

To meet the requirements of the apprenticeship standard, any applicant aged 16 to 18 who does not hold a level 2 Maths and/or English qualification will be required to complete this alongside their apprenticeship.
